Fishery Enterprises in China

The largest fishery enterprise in China now is China National Fishery Corporation, which is directly under the leadership of the Ministry of Agriculture and engaged in fishing, aquaculture, fish product processing, fishery supply producing, fishing vessel manufacturing, transportation, fishing port construction, labor export, marketing and international trade. With the headquarters in Beijing, it has 14 branches and over 200 joint ventures distributed all over China with a total employees of 40 thousand. It has set up fishery relationship with 13 countries and has various fishery bases over there. In the past decade, it has explored fishing in long distant waters and contributed to the development of China fisheries. As a result, in 1991 it was awarded the Five Star Enterprise in China.
