NOAA Central Library provides content management support to several Virtual Library Projects at NOAA:
Aquaculture Virtual LibraryThe Aquaculture Library provides information of interest to scientists and others working with marine aquaculture. While the Aquaculture library focuses on NOAA-related activities and materials, it is also a source for information for others working in the field of aquaculture and related fields. Resources include bibliographies, citations of peer-reviewed articles, and NOAA publications. Coral Reef Information System (CoRIS) Coral Data & Publications CatalogCoral Reef Information System (CoRIS) Coral Data & Publications Catalog, also known as the CoRIS virtual library, offers scientists, resource managers, and other coral enthusiasts direct and indirect access to coral ecosystem datasets and products. The Catalog is home to thousands of metadata records, citations of peer-reviewed journal articles, NOAA scientific publications and technical memoranda, conference proceedings, educational and outreach materials, and much more. It also provides direct links to other coral ecosystem websites, both internal to and outside of NOAA. Online access to literature is provided as available. Marine Protected Areas Virtual LibraryMPA Virtual LibraryThe MPA Virtual Library is a database of MPA literature and information organized by three collections: Bibliography (articles, books, reports, proceedings); Institutions and Organizations; and Web sites. The MPA Virtual Library includes descriptive records and links to full-text when available. Related resources include:
NOAA Restoration PortalThe NOAA Restoration Portal provides centralized access to information about NOAA restoration programs, projects, and activities through a single point-of-entry. This site serves as a gateway to NOAA restoration publications, Web sites, audiovisual materials, and case studies. New NOAA resources may be contributed to the NOAA Restoration Portal by contacting Mary.Lou.Cumberpatch@noaa.gov (301-713-2600 ext. 129).
Pacific Islands Climate Change Virtual LibraryThe U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) developed the Pacific Islands Climate Change Virtual Library using the combined resources of NOAA’s Central Library, National Oceanographic Data Center, Office of Ocean and Coastal Resource Management, Coastal Services Center, and Pacific Services Center. The project was supported by a grant from the NOAA National Ocean Service (NOS) International Coordinating Council (NICC), which is managed by the NOS International Program Office. |
