Technical Services Meeting (March 2009)

1.  For ‘disappeared’ or ‘ghost’ online resources (we have cataloged and they have disappeared from web),
a. Edit master record in WorldCat. Change 856ǂz to indicate that ‘not available when search on [date]. Change 530 to indicate that it is available in print at NOAA Central Library (if we have it).
b. Edit NOAALINC record to remove 856 or edit to point to resource if we have it locally.
c.  For any future NOAA electronic resources only available online, make certain to download a copy in print to have available.

Technical Services Meeting (Oct. 2008)

1. Create authority records for all NOAA persons, corporate bodies, and series.
2. Create PROVISIONAL authority record for headings for which you do not create a record in WorldCat.
3. Do not spend an inordinate (your judgment subject to my judgment) amount of time researching a heading.
